Registration Information:
Age Group: 12-17 years old
Class Day & Time: Tuesdays, 3:00 p.m.
Location:
Hosted at a home/Park
Cross Streets of Residence: Cactus/El Mirage
Cross Streets of Park: Cactus/Litchfield
Duration: One hour per class
Registration and Tuition Fee:
$67 due upon registering, which includes:
A one-time online $25 registration fee
$42 first-month tuition installment
Tuition and registration fee: $395 for entire season
(Note: The registration fee and first month tuition is non-refundable, even with a 30-day notice.)
Registering and paying the first month's class tuition holds the student's place in the class.
Cancellation Policy for Installment Accounts:
A 30-day written notice is required to cancel payments and withdraw the student from future classes.
First Class: September 4, 2025, running through to the end of May, comprising 32 classes.
ClassWallet will need to be paid in full by July 31st via ClassWallet Portal.
Remaining Balance : $328

Program Description:
Sketch Comedy Class:
Write, Perform, and Direct Your Own Sketches
Step into the spotlight and bring your funniest ideas to life in this high-energy Sketch Comedy Class! Perfect for beginners and seasoned performers alike, this course guides students through the complete process of creating original sketch comedy—from brainstorming to performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Write original comedy sketches collaboratively with other students, learning how to bounce ideas, punch up jokes, and refine scripts as a team
- Perform your work in a supportive, workshop-style setting
- Direct sketches, gaining hands-on experience with staging, timing, and leadership
What You’ll Learn:
- The building blocks of sketch comedy, including premise, structure, and comedic rhythm
- Collaborative writing techniques and group creativity
- Character development and acting for comedy
- Basics of directing for both stage and screen sketches
Class Format: Each session features group brainstorming, writing workshops, rehearsals, and live feedback. Students will explore a variety of sketch styles—like parody, satire, and absurdist comedy—while developing their unique comedic voice. The course concludes with a showcase where students present their original sketches to a live audience.
Ideal For:

- Fans of shows like SNL, Key & Peele, I Think You Should Leave, or Monty Python

Prerequisite: One season of basic theater completed.
